This is how easy it is to install. This is all glass and if you need to build it up a little or a lot then use a filler to save money

The 2 outdoor fireplaces below are in northern California at the Hyatt. They called us about soot on the glass. When we looked at the pictures our first thoughts were PROPANE! No these are natural gas. The fix was actually very simple. This was caused by a down draft from the chimney which we partially closed the flue which stopped the down draft and as you can see they are just fine now.

The fireplace below is a propane pan burner with a lava rock fill. You don't want to crush your own lava rock because of the time. You can use larger lava around the edges of the pan but you will want to use crushed lava in the pan up to the surface of the burners. The glass use in this fireplace was a Ford Blue base with Ford Blue Reflective on top. Topped with Clear Pyrite and Amber accents. The install went very well except for the rock crushing episode.

The fireplace below is in Palm Springs California.
This is first for us because we have heard of this, but no one has ever sent us pictures! Well here they are! We installed Giant Logs on a base of Amber Topper with about 20 lbs of light amber topper. Here it is and you be the judge.

Below we installed 2 triple 30" "H" burners.

The fireplace was about 3" deep and we were installing Amber base glass so we used a sand base to build up to the logs but you would still be able to see inside of the grate where the flame would start.

palm springs 6
Below we poured about 125 lbs of amber over the sand and you wouldn't even know it was there.

The fireplace below is a self install with a bed of crushed lava and on top we have:
1 double 24" burner
1/4" Pink Rosa base glass
5 lbs of 1/8" Solex base glass
5 lbs 3/16 Amber base glass
5 lbs Bronze Rust Copper
1 lb of Pink Diamonds
and 1 lb of Rhubarb Pink G278CF Topper
and painted with clay tan paint

For a lava fill n the base it needs to be back at least 4" so when you pour the glass on you won't see the lava through the glass. Yes they did move the lava back after they e mailed the pictures to us to see if they were doing it right.

Now typically is your fireplace looks like yuck, put candles in it and everyone will tell you how nice it looks! NOT! So don't do it! If it's dirty or looks like a skid mark, clean it and or paint it but don't put candles in it.

A typical fireplace where Fake Logs used to live. Now they are residing in the Fake Forest after leaving nice black skid marks on the walls of your fireplace, nice! Actually the soot you see in your fireplace is carbon monoxide but the fireplace manufactures which manufacture the Fake Logs just don't seem to tell you this little fact! It's poison and it's the furthest thing from being green that you could ever get. If you really still like Fake Logs then just sit in your garage with your car running and entertain your friends and family there. It's just a healthy.

The customer here could of painted his flex line to help hide it a little better. Again what was the plumber thinking, hanging logs? Maybe that's why we plumbed the line so high in the air?

Anyway after all of that it did turn out nice.

The outdoor fireplace pictures below are in Sacramento, California (for Nancy and Derek Long). This was built by Jake Moss and Jim Corbett who are constantly features on DIY's Yard Crashers! We have worked with them several times and now we continue to help create some pretty cool features together. Here we go:

This next fire pit was built by Tim and Sarah, they simply built this with stacker stones and a bit of ingenuity. The used a crushed lava base with Black Base glass topped with Black Reflective base glass. Then they used a Light Amber Topping to create the Fleur De Lis. This was done with a propane valve that we supplied. They used a wood burning fire bowl for the pit. The tank was accessible from the back of the fire pit.

Tim Sarah Gallagher 6

Add the base crushed lava. Note we do not use the 3/4" size? Way to large for the glass as it will fall through. You can use the larger lava and then over it with the crushed lava to save some cash!

Tim Sarah Gallagher 5

Below if you notice the Pilot Light and Thermo Couple just inside of the ring? This is a must if using propane, for safety.

The next fireplace is a typical 70's/ 80's I am trying to be creative with my logs and adding candles! NOT!

YUK!!!

Nati Prieto 5

The glass that was used was a base of Amber base glass and topped with a few pounds of Gold base glass.

Nati Prieto 3

Clean, sleek and it produces heat like you have never seen! Typically after 45 minutes to an hour we find that the glass gets up to and over 600 degrees, Guaranteed!

We are proud to offer the consumer over 500 products. Moderustic knows they have spawned a few undesirable competitors in the market place but we continue on our quest for betterment and greater success through you the customer. We have been criticized for offering the crushed lava rock and or filler method by all of these other companies. But we understand the wants and needs of the customer, you. Spend less and get more. Some of these companies are telling the consumer to not use filler, why? They only want to fill their pockets with your money and we want you to save money. We know we have devastated these companies with our filler saving methods but it is with the best intentions for the consumer in mind. Moderustic has refused to sell to these individuals and companies because of their business practices. So please understand their intentions when they want you to purchase more glass. We take pride in our new product and take Patent Infringement very seriously! There are several companies who have copied our product and or process and they will be in for a surprise when our patent number becomes available to the public. If you are a previous or new customer and would like to add your comments on these companies or your experience, we will post a blog page for these to be read by the public.
